STOP PLAYING 'DRESS UP'!!

hyp·o·crite
[hip-uh-krit]
–noun
1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.
or the sake of your tradition.

I am so sick of hypocrites!! ~They give us Christians a BAD Name!

Would it surprise you to discover that Jesus didn't like hypocrites either? Not only were they insincere, He said, but they made a mockery of true faith and brought disgrace to it.
JESUS CHRIST did not mince words when it came to religious hypocrisy. That, more than anything else, is what got Him killed. His death was a staged assassination by a few religious hypocrites who The Lord was very effectively exposing to the people under their authority.
In fact, some of Jesus' strongest words were directed at people who claimed to follow God but in reality weren't obeying Him but were selfish and unloving and evil. On one occasion, He boldly condemned some of the religious leaders of His day with these words: "On the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness" (Matthew 23:28). God knows our hearts and minds, He was reminding them - and nothing is hidden from Him.
Jesus: "..you have made void the word of God. You hypocrites!... 'This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me; in VAIN do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.'" (Matthew 15:1-9 RSV)

Jesus was so straight up and direct, he was eventually killed for speaking against them. (Although we know he purposely laid down His life, thier intentions at the time were obviously to 'silence' him)

I love studying the Words of Jesus...Jesus was gangster!! People portray Jesus as meek, quiet, and sickly, wearing a diaper, and speaking in a voice no higher than a whisper...but Jesus tore up Temples, confronted Leaders, walked hundreds of miles, spoke (loud enough to hear without microphones) to tremendous crowds, and took abuse that would have broken many men. he was storng, smart, and never afraid when challenged. He constantly counfounded his foes, never backed down from adversity, and overcame tremendous temptations!

Check out some of the words towards Jesus at some of the 'church folks' and leaders of his day:
MT 23:13 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to."

MT 23:15 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.

MT 23:16 "Woe to you, blind guides! You say, `If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.' 17 You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? 18 You also say, `If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.' 19 You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? 20 Therefore, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21 And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. 22 And he who swears by heaven swears by God's throne and by the one who sits on it.

MT 23:23 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices--mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law--justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. 24 You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

MT 23:25 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

MT 23:27 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

MT 23:29 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30 And you say, `If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' 31 So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers!

MT 23:33 "You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34 Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35 And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36 I tell you the truth, all this will come upon this generation.

If you are sick of people 'pretending' to be Christians, and living a non-authentic life, know that Jesus did too. Maybe 'church folk' hurt, used, lied to you. Maybe you saw adultery, abuse, and thievery in the church. maybe you were subject as a child to molestation and spiritual manipulation.
But KNOW that that was NOT God!!
Countless chrches have attempted to get me to join thier 'sects' and as soon as I saw something that didnt look right or in any way contradicted the Word, I left there quick fast and in a hurry. I studied the Word for myself once I got saved, because I didnt want to have to believe the Words of any man. I went to small churches, and went to larger churches. Went to all-white churches, and all-black ones, even mixed ones. I saw alot of drama and BS. Unlike most church members, I never felt the need to know' and be 'cool' with my pastor, because sometimes familiarity breeds contempt. I treat a pastor like a college instructor: We dont need to have a presonal relationship, you are there to teach me about the subject matter (God) and I am there to learn. I am not from a Denomination. I grew up around atheists and people who did not necessarily think God was true/real. I also up until 18, shared my family's beliefs. Until I prayed that God would really reveal himself to me, personally, and He did. Now, I have a relatioship with HIM. not a pastor, not a group, not a sect, not a league, not a bunch of overzealous, 'spooky' gossiping, judgemental black, white, yellow or green folks.
I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and I follow him, and Him only.

Sadly, many people have fallen away from the God, who loves them, because of Hypocritical PEOPLE!! Discover God for yourself, and dont look to the bad representatives. If they are not walking in love and obedience, they are dishonoring God. If you dont like hypocrites...dont end up having to spend eternity with them in Hell. Watch out for the Wolves in sheeps clothing...these are not true 'Christians', just people in disguise to make God's Word look bad. The bible says true Christians are known by thier 'fruits' which are what is evidenced in thier life. In case you  dont know: The fruits of the spirit are: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Godness, Meeknss, Gentless, and Self-Control. If these fruits are not present...then more than likely they are NOT FOLLOWING GOD CORRECTLY. Point blank.

Now: there is a difference between a hypocrite and someone who occasionally stumbles and falls, because remember no Man is perfect!! The true believer, though, is convicted in his heart at the slightest sin, and admits and repents of his sins, and turns away from them...continually striving to leave them behind. A hypocrite shows no remorse, makes excuses and justifies his sins, says "this is just ME', and repeats the sins continually. Both may call themselves 'Christians', but only one is a true believer.

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  Ye shall know them by their fruits.  Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.  Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?  And in thy name have cast out devils?  And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”   (Matt 7:15-23)

...Who wants to hear God say THAT to them at the end of all this? It's time to stop playing religious games, and be AUTHENTIC!!
